Virtual implant planning

CBCTHub lets you place virtual implants on the exam to evaluate feasibility before surgery: the implant fits, there is enough bone, it is far from the nerve and adjacent teeth.

NotaThe implant tool works mainly on the cross-sectional slices of the Panoramic view, where you see the buccal-lingual cut of the bone ridge at each arch position.

Place a virtual implant

Go to the Panoramic view and trace the arch curve as usual.

Activate the Implant tool on the toolbar (implant icon).

On the cross-sectional slice where you want to place the implant (e.g.: position of #36), click on the crest and then on the apical point. The implant appears as a cylinder between the two points.

On the side panel, adjust length and diameter to the real values of the implant you will use (e.g.: 4.3 × 10 mm).

Adjust angulation and depth

Once placed, you can:

Drag the tip to change apical angulation.
Drag the base to change the coronal entry point.
Drag the body to move the whole implant.

CBCTHub shows the distance to the nerve and to adjacent roots in real time if you have the IAN traced.

Multiple implants

You can place several implants in the same exam (e.g.: 36, 37, 46, 47 for a posterior rehabilitation). Each one is labeled with the tooth number and stays saved.

ImportanteVirtual planning is an evaluation tool, not a certified surgical guide. For printed surgical guides you need dedicated software (BlueSkyBio, exocad, etc.) — CBCTHub does not export surgical files.

CasoPlan three implants in the posterior mandibular sector

1. Panoramic view. Trace the curve following only the mandible (crop height to separate arches).

2. Activate Trace IAN and mark the canal along the cross-sectional slices.

3. Place the implant for #36. Adjust length and diameter to 4.3 × 10 mm. Verify margin to IAN ≥ 2 mm.

4. Repeat for #37 (4.3 × 8.5 if there is less bone) and #46.

5. Capture an image (capture button) and attach it to the report with the conclusion.
